"DJ Snake" was born to a French father and an Algerian mother with the full name of William Sami Etienne Grigahcine. Ermont, Paris, was the place where he first displayed his talents in art and music, and where he spent the majority of his childhood. Inspired by hip-hop artists KRS-One and Cypress and Cut Killer in the movie La Haine. To avoid being arrested for spraying graffiti all over Paris, he adopted the pseudonym "DJ Snake."
